Game 1 of the ABA League 2 quarterfinals saw Sutjeska Elektroprivreda narrowly defeat Sloboda Energoinvest 96:94 after an intense overtime battle. The opening match of the best-of-three series delivered a high-stakes, back-and-forth contest that kept fans on the edge of their seats.
Sloboda appeared poised for victory late in regulation, holding a five-point lead with just over a minute remaining. However, timely scoring from Miljanić and a three-pointer from Von tied the game with 14.4 seconds left, forcing overtime.
The extra period proved equally dramatic. A late turnover by Sloboda allowed Barović to hit a decisive mid-range shot as the buzzer sounded, sealing the narrow victory.
Several players stood out on both sides. Kvame Von, making his debut for Sutjeska, led his team with 19 points, including four successful three-pointers, along with eight assists and two rebounds. Balša Živanović contributed 18 points, four rebounds, and four assists.
For Sloboda, Sani Čampara had a strong showing, registering 24 points and 10 rebounds.
The quarterfinal series continues with Game 2 in Tuzla on March 25, with a potential deciding Game 3 scheduled for April 1 in Nikšić.
