Milija Vojinović, ABA League Sports Director: "It is a great pleasure for me to be here in Sarajevo, which is a city with huge sports and basketball tradition. Sarajevo was the Olympic Games host city in the past and it was this city that gave us the first European champion from our region. While I am here, I would like to congratulate the basketball association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the professional staff, the players and all the fans of the national team on qualifying for the 2022 Eurobasket and I want to wish everyone from the bottom of my heart to bring us as much joy as the U16 Bosnia and Herzegovina national team did in 2015 when they won the U16 European Championship. What makes me happy is that most of the players in the national team have grown up on the basketball courts of the ABA 1 and ABA 2 leagues, which shows that the ABA League is helping both the cubs and the national teams from our region to be better. The ABA League, like all the other leagues in the world, has faced many problems due to COVID-19 pandemic, but we have managed to find a way to have both ABA 1 and ABA 2 leagues remain on an exceptional level, and I consider that we have even  managed to improve the league’s organization. By making modifications of the system competition in the ABA League 2, we now have the regular season separated into four different tournaments, with the first one played in Zlatibor, the second one in Banja Luka, while now we are in front of the 3rd tournament which will be held in Sarajevo. I want to add that in the organization of the upcoming tournament we had a huge help from the Municipality of Ilidža and Mayor Nermin Muzur, then from the basketball club Spars, as well as from the Hills and Hollywood hotels. On my own behalf and on behalf of the ABA League, I want to thank them, because if it weren't for them, this organization wouldn't be possible.”

Nermin Muzur, Ilidža Municipality Mayor: “It is a great pleasure and honor for all of us that the upcoming ABA League 2 tournament will be held in Ilidža, as this is a great thing for our young athletes and a great thing for Ilidža, which is a municipality that has always been recognized as a sports municipality.”

Nihad Selimović, Spars President: “I am especially honored and pleased that in these specific conditions, such as the pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus, we have managed to organize such an extremely important tournament for our club. I want to thank ABA League for giving us a chance to organize such a big event and I hope that the upcoming tournament will bring lot of good things to the municipality of Ilidža and to Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
