Vojvodina mts put on a stunning 2nd half performance to grab a valuable home win vs. Široki TT Kabeli in the opening round of the Top 8 stage.
The Novi Sad troops were down by 11 points after the first 20 minutes of the game – 22:33. It was probably one of the worst halves the red-and-whites played in this season, but the last year’s NLB ABA League 2 finalists had no intention to surrender despite the poor performance.
Vojvodina mts went back on court determined to make a comeback and they started melting the gap from the start of the 2nd half. Daishon Scoochie Smith made some big buckets in the 3rd quarter, Luka Ašćerić scored two huge 3-pointers in a row in the 4th quarter and the red-and-whites got back in the game.
Eventually, the two sides were all squared – 54:54, with 3 minutes left on the game clock, while in the rest of the match Vojvodina mts made the key 8:2 run to take the win – 62:56! The hero of the home team in those moments was Filip Rebrača who scored 5 points for his team during that 8:2 run.
