KK Spartak Office Shoes, Subotica

Beginnings

Basketball club Spartak has been founded on 21 April 1945. It is one of the oldest clubs of former Yugoslavia. In 1991 it became a member of the First Federal Basketball League of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Since then and until 2019, it has been a member of the domestic elite competitions 18 times. Lots of notable players have arrived from Spartak, such as Dejan Koturović, Dejan Mišković, Vladimir Đokić and Nikola Kalinić, to name just a few of them. Within the club, they are extremely proud of the fact, that nowadays no less than 600 youngsters attend their basketball academy free of charge.

Glory Days

Spartak used to accomplish its greatest moments in the 1990s. If we focus just on the brightest moments, we can singe out the Serbian Radivoj Korać Cup Final in the 1995 against Partizan Belgrade, two semifinals of the domestic national championship (1992/93 and 1994/95) and three episodes in the European competitions. Over the past two seasons, the club has recorded several successes under the name Spartak Office Shoes. The club finished the 2022/23 season as a vice-champion of the Basketball League of Serbia (KLS), which earned it a chance to qualify for a spot in the NLB ABA League 2 for the first time ever. The club has also played in the Final Tournament of the Serbian Radivoj Korać Cup the same season. The new era has dawned for the Subotica basketball in that 2023/24 season, as Spartak Office Shoes won the NLB ABA League 2 Championship trophy and qualified for the top-tier regional club competition.
