Beginnings

The club was founded in 1973 in šibenik under the name Šibenka. In only six seasons it managed to qualify for Yugoslav Basketball League, then one of the best leagues in the world. The club was famous for its youth academy which produced a lot of great players, the greatest among them being the late Dražen Petrović, arguably the best European basketball player of all time. Lately, the club has been competing in the Croatian National Championship and is developing great cooperation with the Dražen Petrović Basketball Academy, where more than 400 children of all age categories are training. In the 2023/24 season, Šibenka has once again found itself on the regional club basketball stage, as it joined the NLB ABA League 2 for the first time.

Glory Days

In 1983 Šibenka won the controversial Yugoslav Championship final against KK Bosna but they were later stripped of the title. Two seasons in a row, 1981/82 and 1982/83, Šibenka was a finalist of the Korać Cup but was defeated on both occasions by French side CSP Limoges. The club was famous for its youth academy which produced a lot of great players, the greatest among them being the late Dražen Petrović, arguably the best European basketball player of all time.
