The wait is almost over! The 2026/27 ABA League 2 season is set to tip off on Tuesday, 13 October, bringing another exciting chapter of regional basketball as 16 teams prepare to battle for success in the competition.

Following changes to the competition system ahead of the new campaign, the participating clubs have been divided into four groups of four teams each. The revised format promises plenty of competitive encounters, with every result carrying significant importance in the race for a place in the knockout stages.

The regular season will feature a home-and-away round-robin system, meaning that each team will play six games in the group stage. The group winners will secure direct qualification for the Playoff Quarter-Finals, while the second- and third-placed teams will compete in the Play-In round for the remaining four spots.

The Play-In will consist of single games, with the second-placed teams enjoying home-court advantage. From the Quarter-Finals onwards, the competition will move to best-of-three series, including the Semi-Finals and the Finals, with two victories required to advance or claim the title.

The groups for the 2026/27 season are as follows:

Group A: Borac WWIN, GGD Šenčur, Mornar-Barsko zlato, Vojvodina mts

Group B: Hercegovac Aling-Conel, Podgorica Bemax, Sloboda Energoinvest, TFT Skopje

Group C: ECE Triglav Kranj, MZT Skopje Aerodrom, Sloboda Užice, Sutjeska Elektroprivreda Nikšić

Group D: Basket Živinice, Primorje 1945, Virtus Zagreb, Zlatibor Mozzart

The new campaign will officially begin on Tuesday, 13 October, when Zlatibor Mozzart host Basket Živinice in the first game of the season.

Two more encounters will follow on Wednesday, 14 October, as Primorje 1945 face Virtus Zagreb in Group D, while Vojvodina mts welcome GGD Šenčur in Group A.

The group stage is scheduled to conclude in January 2027, setting the stage for the decisive part of the competition.

With a revised competition format, a diverse field of 16 clubs and plenty at stake from the opening tip-off, everything is in place for another exciting ABA League 2 campaign.

The road to the 2026/27 ABA League 2 title starts this week!
