GGD Šenčur grab second win in a row

On Friday night, GGD Šenčur, that have lost their opening 7 games of their maiden NLB ABA League 2 season, have achieved their second win in a row. After beating TFT Skopje in Round 8, they have also been better than Spars Ilidža in the Round 9.

This way, they are now on a 2:7 record after 9 rounds and they have moved away from the very bottom of the standings, even surpassing Spars Ilidža, that are now on a 1:8 record. Šenčur even keep their Playoffs chances open, in case of a dream ending of their Regular Season campaign.

It have been the GGD Šenčur squad, that have opened the game in a better fashion and as the halftime arrived, the score was 8 points in their favour (37:30).

By the 22nd minute, their advantage went into the double-digits and reached 12 points (42:30). However, the Ilidža side fought back and made it anybody’s game by the end of the third quarter, when they even took the lead (53:55) with 2 minutes remaining in the period. Šenčur did not give up, though and quickly returned in front. With 7 minutes to go in the game, they were up by 11 points again (69:58) and as it turned out later in the game, these moments were the key to their win, since Spars Ilidža did not manage to fight back once more all until the end.
