After double-overtime Helios Suns the first to beat Borac

What a game it has been in Banja Luka, where Helios Suns have become the first team to beat the tournament hosts Borac Banja Luka in double-overtime!
Who would have imagined that it was to be in front of their home crowd, where Borac Banja Luka would suffer their first defeat of the NLB ABA League 2 season? That’s exactly what happened in fantastic atmosphere of the Borik Sports Hall, where Helios Suns have escaped what seemed to be a lost game in the regular part of the game, only to beat the hosts in double-overtime.
In the final minute, Borac have already been up by 4 points with 15 seconds to go, when Šantelj scored a 3-pointer for the Suns with 14 seconds left on the game clock, to cut the deficit to only a point (76:77). On the other end, Stefan Kenić scored one of two free throws, but the rebound went to the hosts, which had a 2-point advantage and an offensive possession. It seemed like the game was over, but that’s when Carlbe Ervin came up with a steal, from which Helios Suns scored on fast break for overtime.
After twice added 5 minutes of the game, Helios prevailed with the score of 99:93, as they have been in front for the majority of the playing time in the extra periods.
After this game, Borac are now on a 7:1 record, still alone at the top of the standings, while Helios Suns are sharing the third spot now with a 5:3 record.
