ABA League Round 12, Wednesday, 14 April 2021:

ZADAR - CIBONA

Where? Krešimir Ćosić Arena, Zadar

When? 16:00

Story of the game: On Wednesday afternoon, Zadar will be hosting Cibona at home in their Krešimir Ćosić Arena in Zadar in the previously postponed game of the ABA League Round 12.

It will be the second clash of the two sides in just five days, after they have previously met in the Round 25 in Zagreb, where Cibona have celebrated the win following a major comeback in the final quarter.

This time, Zadar have other plans and they will be seeking revenge over their arch rivals.

Currently, both squads are in a similar position in the standings, as both of them have won 8 games so far, with Zadar being on an 8:16 record and Cibona on 8:15 and they are both a win above Krka and Borac, that have 7 wins on their record apiece right now. So it is clear, what victory would mean for both squads – they would pull safely away from the danger zone near the bottom of the standings, while the losing side would continue their struggle to do so.

Historically speaking, it has been difficult for Cibona to win in Zadar, as they have won only 4 games over Zadar so far in 18 clashes.

How will it be this time around?

Match-up in focus: There will be an important battle in the paint, as big men Chinanu Onuaku and Roko Prkačin will be battling head-to-head. Currently, Prkačin is the leading scorer and rebounder of Cibona with an average of 12.9 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. On the other side, we have seen Onuaku averaging 15.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per game as the top scorer and rebounder of the Dalmatians. Which one would prevail this time?

Head to head in the regional league: In total 20:17; In Zadar 14:4.
