Game recap: Split have scored their first win since returning to ABA League as they defeated FMP at home court. Despite playing without two important players – Mateo Kedžo and Ilija Đoković – the Yellow crew had a really good game, especially in the 2nd half in which they gained the crucial lead.
Split and FMP are now all tied at the ABA League standings as both teams have the overall score of 1-1 after two rounds of the new season.
Key moments: The winner of this match was decided in the 3rd quarter. After the halftime break, Split's troops have returned on court with much more energy than their rivals and they won the 3rd period by 21:12. Toni Perković scored the 3-pointer at the 3rd quarter buzzer to give Split a 12-point lead – 63:51 – and the home team have successfully kept the double-digit gap until the end.
Man of the match: Blaž Mesiček was simply brilliant on his Split debut in ABA League. This 23-year old shooting guard finished the match with 17 points and 6 assists, while his overall index rating was 25.
Can’t trick the stats: Believe it or not, but Split have won this game despite having 15 rebounds less than FMP! Still, the visitors were not using their 2nd chances as they missed just too many shots this evening.
