Game recap: On the road in Novo mesto, Igokea have managed to beat Krka in the derby of the ABA League’s bottom in the opening game of the ABA League Round 16 on Friday night. This is the sixth win of the season for Igokea, which puts them two triumphs up in comparison with Krka and a step closer to reaching one of their objectives, set ahead of this season – to stay at the top level of regional club basketball. Krka, on the other hand, still continue to struggle, with four triumphs after 16 rounds, less than any other team.

Key moments: After Sava Lešić put in his lay-up attempt, the teams entered the final minute of the game with the tied score of 67:67. Dominik Mavra took Krka ahead with a mid-range jump-shot with 40 seconds remaining on the clock (69:67). On the other side, Danilo Anđušić scored 2 free throws to even the squads at 69:69 with 24 seconds left. Krka had the possession, but Đorđe Milošević stole the ball from Marko Jošilo, who then had a chance to score a game winning three-pointer, but he missed. The final score was 71:69 in favour of Igokea.

Man of the match: He did not only score a game-winner, but Đorđe Milošević was also the key player for Igokea in the battle for a victory in Novo mesto. He led the way in scoring with 16 points, while adding 5 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists and a valuation of 22 to his stats. He is our man of the match.

Can’t trick the stats: Of course, there haven’t been many statistical differences between the two sides at the end, as we have witnessed an extremely close game. However, Krka had 12 turnovers and Igokea 9 and that’s what cost them a victory. Regardless of that last, fatal one.
